Long Island invaded Lulu’s last Sunday for a double bill of great rock outfits. Although half the line-up (Harvard and All Grown Up) got stranded on their way back from Charlotte, NC to New York, Lights Resolve and NGHBRS made up for it. Lights Resolve finished up their tour this weekend but will be back in action on Saturday, January 14 at Bowery Ballroom, and NGBRS will be doing shows throughout the Northeast in January.
Good company and good music are the ideal ways to spend a birthday. I was a lucky lady on December 10 as I danced to an excellent soundtrack at the Knitting Factory. I felt old as the group of 15-year olds, better known as Edelweiss, and only slightly older members of The Twees rocked the stage. Black Taxi, the perfect band for anything celebratory, and fun and festive Jangula, made the night to remember. Any rocker stalker’s dream party.
