Rock ‘n roll-inspired and NY music-devoted fashionista/designer, John Varvatos, welcomed  The Dead Exs to  his store on Bowery on Thursday night as part of the John Varvatos Thursday Nite Live series (It was  the series’ third anniversary!), along with bluesy brethren,  Daddy Long Legs.  Packed wall-to- wall, the monthly party got a proper celebration as the room bounced and grooved to the devilish slide guitars of The Dead Exs and the howling harmonica of Daddy Long Legs.

Thanks to the density of NYC, there’s never a lack entertainment more than a hop, skip, and a jump away, especially the Lower East Side.  As a result, tough Friday night decisions surround you, driving you crazier than your boss did during the week…not that I have any personal experience with that. But, please let me put your mind at ease.

Great bands play back-to-back bands  only a few hundred feet away from each other tonight, beginning with Hollis Brown, “a band, not a man,” who brings their  classic rock with a Southern twang to Mercury Lounge with Mississippi’s Young Buffalo, starting at 8pm.

Right after, find  yourself mesmerized by the ominous and experimental vibes of decibel. and danceable punk creations of Saturday Astrology at Pianos at 9:30pm.

Both shows are 21+.

Not a shabby warm up for the weekend and wind down for the week!
